LONDON – The UK’s pharmaceutical industry is under pressure to find a way to save money on Viagra.
A new report in the BMJ reveals how pharmaceuticals are set to go after erectile dysfunction drugs.
The report, released today shows the impact of the erectile dysfunction drugs Viagra, Cialis, and Levitra on the lives of men who have sex with men.
“It’s about time there was a change in attitudes,” Dr Martin Bu purchaser said.
Dr Bu said: “In terms of the market, I think Viagra is one of the most expensive drugs in the UK, and Cialis is a lot cheaper.”
He added that the new study, published in the British Medical Journal, will provide “discounts” for men who may not be aware of what Viagra is and how it works.
A study in the Journal of Sexual Medicine found that men who had sex with men and were prescribed the drug had a significantly higher chance of having an erection.
The drug also saved patients by helping them to have a firm and long-lasting erection.
“By being able to get an erection for the first time, patients can now have a more satisfying sexual experience and also have a more satisfying relationship,” the drug’s lead author, Dr Chris Wills, said in a statement.
Dr Wills said that the drugs are “a step in the right direction for men and their partners”.
He said the findings would “make healthcare professionals more aware of the issue” of erectile dysfunction.
“We’ll have more information to make sure that patients are aware of this problem,” he said.
The report also shows that the drugs were associated with “significant improvements” in the quality of life of men taking Viagra.
It also revealed that erectile dysfunction affects both men and women as well as their partners.
Dr Wills added that the results would be published in the BMJ.
“We think the evidence is strong,” he said.
He said that “we’ve seen a dramatic shift in attitudes”.
He said that Viagra and Cialis are the only drugs in the UK to treat erectile dysfunction.
However, a study in the journal JAMA said that the drugs “did not improve erectile function or improve sexual performance in patients with erectile dysfunction or those who are taking medications that could affect the flow of blood to the penis”.
The drug also helped men “to have a longer and more satisfying relationship”, the study found, adding that the drug “does help men to have more satisfying sexual relationships”.
Dr Wills added that men should talk to their healthcare provider first before they start taking the drug.
He said it was important to be open with men about the drugs and how they are being used.
Dr Wills said: “It’s important to understand that some men may not be able to access the benefits of the drugs due to financial issues.
“However, it’s important to talk to your partner before taking any of the drugs.
“If you’re thinking about using the drugs, you should talk to your partner first about whether it’s a safe choice for you.”
He also recommended that men be cautious about the side effects of the drugs, particularly if they take them in larger amounts or on longer-term breaks.
“We think the drugs can be an effective treatment for erectile dysfunction,” he said.
He also said that men should be aware that taking the drugs can also cause serious side effects.
“If you’re taking the drugs for erectile dysfunction and you have health problems, it could mean that you have serious side effects,” he added.
Dr Wills added that the side effects could include headaches, indigestion, back or stomach pain, facial flushing, muscle aches, nasal congestion, and vision changes.
Sildenafil citrate, commonly known by the brand name, is a prescription-only medicine used to treat erectile dysfunction (ED) in adult men. It works by improving blood flow to the penis, helping to achieve and maintain an erection during sexual activity.
